Job Description:
An Assistant Fuel Attendant helps customers, pumps fuel, handles payments, maintains station cleanliness (forecourt, store, restrooms), checks basic vehicle fluids/tires, and stocks convenience items, focusing on safety, accuracy with cash/POS, and providing good customer service in a fast-paced environment, often outdoors. They work with pumps, loyalty programs, and report issues, performing routine checks and restocking supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greeting customers, directing them, pumping fuel to requested levels, cleaning windscreens, and assisting with store purchases.
- Transactions: Handling cash, card payments, giving change, processing loyalty cards, and operating Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Station Maintenance: Keeping fueling areas, pumps, and store clean; stocking shelves with snacks, drinks, and other items; collecting trash.
- Vehicle Assistance: Checking/topping up oil/water, checking tire pressure, and sometimes changing tires or fitting minor parts.
- Safety & Security: Following safety protocols, monitoring for drive-offs, reporting suspicious activity, and preventing spills.
- Inventory: Monitoring fuel levels and convenience store stock.
