Legal Manager Mumbai for a QSR chain
Job Description:
The Legal Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all legal matters pertaining to the QSR and
Retail segments of co.'s in west and south regions. The role involves providing legal support on contracts,
compliance, licensing, disputes, risk management, and advising business teams to ensure smooth operations
across outlets and kitchen units.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contracts & Agreements
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including franchise agreements, vendor
agreements, lease agreements, licensing, supply chain contracts, and employment-related documents.
Ensure all agreements comply with applicable laws and protect company interests.
2. Regulatory & Compliance Management
Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws related to food safety (FSSAI), labour laws,
licensing, environmental regulations, and local municipal requirements.
Maintain statutory registers, records, and timely renewals of licenses for QSR operations (trade license,
health license, fire NOC, etc.).
3. Dispute Resolution & Litigation
Handle legal notices, consumer complaints, labour disputes, and coordinate with external counsels for
litigation management.
Provide proactive legal risk assessment and solutions to avoid disputes.
4. Policy & Advisory
Develop and implement internal legal policies and SOPs to streamline compliance across outlets.
Advise business and HR teams on employment law, disciplinary actions, and contract labour
compliance.
5. Risk Management
Identify potential legal risks in new business initiatives, expansion plans, or partnerships and provide
mitigation strategies.
Conduct training for internal teams on legal and compliance matters.
6. Liaison & Coordination
Liaise with statutory authorities, law firms, and consultants for legal matters.
Partner with operations, HR, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure legal compliance across all
processes.
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM).
Experience: 6–10 years of experience in legal management, preferably in QSR, FMCG, retail, or
hospitality sector.
Skills:
a. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, labour laws, commercial laws, and contract
drafting.
b. Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
c. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work under pressure in a fast-paced
environment.
d. Proactive, business-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills.
