About the Role

In order to perform the role that will be focused on the detailed analysis of Port Equipment, Spare parts and e-Catalogue Management, we need an electrical technician, that will have been employed in-line with the following job function.

As Electrical Crane Technician, that has played a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of container-handling equipment, including ship-to-shore (STS), rubber-tyred gantry (RTG), and rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes. Your technical expertise will not only keep our port operations running smoothly but also help us better understand and serve the global ports community through our eMarketplace.

This role is ideal for an experienced industrial electrician who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to contribute to an industry-changing global platform.

Role & responsibilities

 

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance and electrical repairs on container-handling cranes.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across PLCs, drives, motors, and control systems.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to port operations.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and hydraulic specialists to resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with safety standards, electrical codes, and port authority regulations.
  • Support crane upgrades, modernisation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Share insights and feedback that contribute to our global marketplace solutions.
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Preferred candidate profile

 

  • Recognised trade qualification in electrical fitting/industrial electrical (Certificate III or above).
  • Current electrical licence (or eligibility to obtain in [jurisdiction]).
  • 3-5 years industrial electrical maintenance experience, ideally in ports, shipping, cranes, or heavy industry.
  • Proficiency in PLCs, VFDs, industrial automation, and fault diagnosis.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage systems and safe work practices.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Previous container crane experience highly regarded.
