Job Description:
A CS/CA intern assists with accounting, tax, and audit tasks, including maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, filing tax returns, assisting with audits, and performing data analysis and reconciliation under the guidance of senior professionals. Key duties involve data entry, compliance, financial report generation, and supporting various projects while gaining practical experience for their professional qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting and Record-Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, ledger entries, and books of accounts.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial statements, monthly reports, and other financial documents.
- Taxation and Compliance: Help with the preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., Income Tax, GST) and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Auditing: Participate in statutory, tax, and internal audits by gathering and organizing documents and verifying data.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and provide insights for senior management.
- Reconciliations: Conduct bank and ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Client Interaction: Assist with client communications, documentation, and resolving queries.
- Project Support: Work on various accounting projects, software, and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to improving financial processes and contribute to the overall finance department's success.
Skills & Qualifications
- Academic Background: Pursuing or having a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime) and strong aptitude in using accounting principles and tools.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, perform calculations, and solve problems.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for client and team interactions.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various tasks efficiently.
- Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
- Integrity: High ethical standards and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
