HELPER FOR STEEL INDUSTRY - ROLLING MILL - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH

Job Description:

The Rolling Mill Helper supports the rolling mill team in the production of metal products, such as steel bars, rods, or coils. This role involves assisting with the setup, operation, and maintenance of rolling mill machinery, handling raw materials, and ensuring a safe and efficient workflow in the mill environment.

📌 Key Responsibilities:

• Assist rolling mill operators in feeding, rolling, and finishing metal products.

• Load and unload billets, slabs, or coils into rolling mill equipment using cranes or other handling tools.

• Monitor material flow during the rolling process and make minor adjustments as directed.

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure quality standards are met.

• Remove, stack, and bundle finished metal products from rolling line.

• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.

• Lubricate, clean, and maintain mill equipment as part of preventive maintenance.

• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient production flow.

• Assist with troubleshooting and basic machine repairs when necessary.

🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or steel mill environment is an asset

• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in hot, noisy conditions

• Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with hand tools

• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions

• Team player with good communication skills

• Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends

🧱 Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods

• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more

• Comfortable working in hot, dusty, or noisy industrial settings
