Position: Deputy Manager – Power Plant

Industry: Integrated Steel Plant / Captive Power Plant

Location: (As per company)

Experience: 5 – 10 Years

CTC Range: ₹4 – ₹8 LPA (depending on plant capacity and expertise)

Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Power Engineering

• Additional certifications in Energy Management / Boiler Operation / Turbine Operation preferred.

• Competency Certificate from Electrical Inspectorate (if applicable).

Technical Skills Required

✅ Operation & Maintenance of CPP (Captive Power Plant) — WHRB, AFBC, CFBC, TG Sets
✅ Knowledge of Turbine, Boiler, and Generator operation and maintenance
✅ Expertise in Electrical and Mechanical systems related to power generation
✅ Experience in Energy Management, Fuel Efficiency, and Load Management
✅ Exposure to DG Sets, Transformers, HT/LT Panels, Switchgear, and PLC/DCS systems
✅ Sound understanding of safety protocols and statutory compliance
✅ Familiar with co-generation systems, steam balance, and power optimization

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Power Plant ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient generation.

• Supervise and guide teams in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of boilers and turbines.

• Monitor power generation parameters and optimize efficiency & cost-effectiveness.

• Coordinate with production and utility departments for balanced power supply.

• Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance schedules are executed timely.

• Maintain statutory and environmental compliance as per regulatory norms.

• Prepare and analyze MIS reports on power generation, consumption, and fuel usage.

• Lead shutdown planning and overhauling activities for critical equipment.

• Handle vendor coordination, AMC contracts, and inventory control of spares.

• Train and mentor team members for skill upgradation and safety practices.
