Job Description:
A Traffic Supervisor in the logistics industry is responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient and safe movement of goods, including coordinating delivery routes, scheduling shipments, and ensuring compliance with regulationsKey duties involve supervising transportation staff, optimizing logistics processes, resolving issues, maintaining records, and improving efficiency through data analysis. Qualifications typically include experience in logistics and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate: 
    Manage the daily activities of the transportation team, including drivers and dispatchers. 
     
  • Plan and optimize: 
    Develop and implement efficient delivery routes, schedules, and logistics strategies. 
     
  • Ensure compliance: 
    Monitor and ensure adherence to all transportation laws, safety standards, and company regulations. 
     
  • Manage operations: 
    Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, document handling, and resolve logistical issues or emergencies. 
     
  • Improve efficiency: 
    Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. 
     
  • Communicate: 
    Liaise with drivers, vendors, customers, and other internal departments to ensure smooth operations. 
     
  • Maintain records: 
    Keep transportation records, update documentation, and prepare reports. 
     
Qualifications and skills
  • Education: 
    A Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is often preferred. 
     
  • Experience: 
    Proven experience in logistics coordination or traffic management is essential. 
     
  • Technical skills: 
    Proficiency with logistics software and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. 
     
  • Leadership: 
    Strong leadership and team management skills are necessary to supervise staff effectively. 
     
  • Interpersonal skills: 
    Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are crucial for collaborating with stakeholders and managing multiple tasks. 
     
  • Knowledge:
