Compliance Manager
Job Description:
Need a well knowledgeable and experienced Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure full adherence to labor laws, factory compliance, and buyer audit standards such as SLCP, SEDEX, BSCI, SA8000,GRS & RCS, Oeko tex and other international codes of conduct. The candidate will be responsible for managing internal audits, implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), maintaining compliance documentation, and liaising with buyers, legal authorities, and consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal & Statutory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with labor laws, factories act, industrial relations, and all statutory regulations.
Maintain and renew factory licenses, approvals, and legal documentation in a timely manner.
Monitor updates to labor legislation and ensure company policies are aligned.
Social & Buyer Compliance:
Prepare for and coordinate social compliance audits (SLCP, SEDEX, BSCI, SA8000, etc.).
Conduct internal audits and factory assessments to identify gaps and risks.
Implement and follow up on CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action Plans) from buyer or third-party audits.
Ensure ethical labor practices, health and safety, working conditions, and documentation standards are met.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain updated compliance records including attendance, wages, ESI/PF, maternity, child labor, grievance mechanisms, etc.
Organize and update records for licenses, certificates, audit reports, inspection records, and risk assessments.
Prepare reports and documentation required by buyers, auditors, or legal authorities.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Coordinate with buyers, audit agencies, legal advisors, and external consultants for audits and legal matters.
Conduct awareness and training sessions for workers and staff on compliance-related topics.
Assist in developing and updating company compliance manuals and SOPs.
Key Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws and international compliance standards.
Hands-on experience with SLCP, SEDEX, BSCI, SA8000,GRS & RCS, Oeko tex, and other buyer audit protocols.
Strong documentation and record-keeping ability.
Ability to handle audits and ensure timely closure of NCs (Non-Conformities).
Good communication and coordination skills to interact with all levels.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in garment (Woven) export industry with direct handling of buyer audits.
Familiarity with audit platforms and compliance management systems.
Work Conditions:
Full-time, on-site position.
May require coordination across multiple factory locations and departments.
Involves regular interaction with auditors and buyers.
