Job Description:

Role Requirements

Acting as a due diligence and documentation auditor from the Mumbai office, with a job description as below.

 

Daily work would include the below:

 

  • Maintaining a log of supplier, buyer and other counterparty KYC and liaising where and when required in real time
  • Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining filing of sales and purchase contracts prior to sharing externally
  • Working with the ERP team to streamline KYC processing and documentation storage on an evolving basis
  • Taking ownership over annual due diligence audits as required by our downstream counterparties, including the conducting of site visits in region to verify our material is ‘conflict-free’
  • Attending conferences and industry meetings on topics related to due diligence, traceability, and sourcing.
  • Preparation and ongoing review of detailed reports on aforementioned site visits and sourcing and purchasing policies as required.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on the above, including rectifying any due diligence issues that may arise during the course of our shipments.

 

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree from a first-class university– preferably in law, English or administrative related degrees.
  • Ability to grasp new due diligence techniques at a rapid pace, and the ability to self structure KYC and due diligence follow up.
  • Willingness to travel to our sourcing regions in Central Africa to conduct site visits, traceability and supply chain audits.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Prior African experience welcome.
  • Previous job experience to have involved aspects of KYC, compliance, and report writing.
  • Good relationship building skills, to ensure smooth communication with counterparties as required to troubleshoot due diligence, legal or KYC queries.
  • Well versed in general IT, MS Office, with ERP training given on the job.
  • Fast typing skills and highly efficient multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to adapt to different cultures (Central African counterparties on one end, blue-chip Western customers on the other end).
