HR Manager
Job Description:
We are a growing glass manufacturing company catering to B2B clients across India. The company has been successfully led by its promoters and is now entering the next stage of professionalisation. We are looking for a capable HR Manager who can set up HR systems, policies, and a culture of accountability aligned with business growth.
This is a foundational HR role. The selected candidate will be responsible for building and managing all core HR functions — from recruitment and payroll to compliance, discipline, and workforce engagement. You will work closely with management to bring structure, consistency, and transparency to all people-related areas.
- HR Systems & Processes
- Develop and implement HR policies, SOPs, and documentation.
- Set up attendance, leave, and payroll systems (manual or software-based).
- Maintain accurate employee records, ID cards, and personnel files.
- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Handle end-to-end hiring for staff, supervisors, technicians, and office roles.
- Prepare job descriptions and coordinate interviews with management.
- Plan smooth onboarding and basic training for new joiners.
- Employee Relations & Engagement
- Act as a bridge between the shop floor and management.
- Handle grievances, absenteeism, and disciplinary issues promptly.
- Build a positive and stable work culture through communication and small engagement initiatives.
- Workforce Productivity, Attendance & Discipline
- Monitor daily attendance, punctuality, and absenteeism trends.
- Ensure effective deployment of manpower as per shift requirements.
- Track overtime and productivity data; highlight abnormal patterns.
- Enforce discipline, uniform policy, and workplace hygiene.
- Conduct periodic counselling and warning sessions where needed.
5. Statutory Compliance & Payroll
- Ensure compliance with labour laws (PF, ESIC, Factory Act, etc.).
- Manage payroll preparation, verification, and related statutory filings.
- Liaise with consultants, auditors, and government departments when required.
- HR Reporting & MIS
- Maintain HR dashboards (attendance, attrition, manpower cost, etc.).
- Present key HR data to management every month for decision-making.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Graduate / MBA in HR or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in HR within manufacturing/factory setups.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and statutory compliance.
- Hands-on approach, able to manage workers and office staff with firmness and fairness.
- Gujarati or Hindi language fluency preferred.
- Experience in setting up HR systems in an SME will be an added advantage.
