Job Description:
Role Objective:
To lead, manage, and deliver all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Firefighting (MEPF) projects with a focus on timely completion, cost efficiency, quality, and safety. The GM – Projects (MEPF) will oversee planning, execution, coordination, and delivery of multiple projects while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution
Lead end-to-end management of MEPF projects from concept to handover.
Prepare and review project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
Monitor progress through project management tools and ensure adherence to timelines.
Coordinate design finalization and value engineering to optimize cost and performance.
- Technical & Quality Control
Oversee design review, shop drawings, and material submittals for all MEPF systems.
Ensure strict compliance with design intent, codes, and statutory requirements.
Implement quality assurance procedures, testing, and commissioning protocols.
Resolve technical issues, design discrepancies, and site coordination challenges.
- Cost, Budget, and Resource Management
Develop and monitor project budgets and forecasts.
Control project costs through efficient procurement, vendor negotiation, and resource optimization.
Approve material procurement plans and vendor selections in coordination with procurement and contracts teams.
- Coordination & Communication
Act as the key interface between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Conduct regular project review meetings and issue progress reports.
Ensure smooth coordination among civil, structural, architectural, and MEPF disciplines.
- Leadership & Team Development
Lead and mentor project teams (Project Managers, Engineers, Site Staff).
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Evaluate team performance and identify training needs.
- Compliance, Safety & Sustainability
Ensure all work complies with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Enforce project-specific safety and quality standards.
Promote sustainability and energy-efficient design solutions where applicable.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical expertise in MEPF systems design, installation, and commissioning.
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Strong command of project management tools (Primavera/MS Project).
Good knowledge of codes and standards (NBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, etc.).
Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
