Job Description:
A Store Officer in an ethanol plant manages inventory, procurement, and logistics for raw materials (like grains/molasses) and plant consumables, ensuring smooth operations, compliance with safety (PESO license for storage), and accuracy through stock audits, requiring experience in distillery/chemical plant stores and often a Commerce or Engineering background.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Overseeing all store and warehouse activities, maintaining accurate stock records (inward/outward), and managing stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Procurement Support: Handling day-to-day purchase activities, coordinating with vendors, and resolving supply discrepancies, often for critical distillery inputs.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforcing strict safety, cleanliness, and housekeeping standards, especially critical for flammable ethanol storage (requiring PESO compliance).
- Documentation: Maintaining and updating inventory records in the plant's system.
- Stock Audits: Conducting regular stock checks to ensure physical stock matches system records.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 3-10 years in store/purchase management, preferably in chemical, grain-based, or distillery plants.
- Education: A degree in Commerce, Material Management, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is often preferred.
