Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Development & Maintenance:
- Design, develop, and implement complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and database schema design.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and consistency across various databases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor database health and proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Technology Proficiency:
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with database platforms such as DB2 and MySQL.
- Possess working knowledge of Python for data manipulation, scripting, and automation tasks related to database operations.
- Understand and apply data modeling principles and best practices.
- Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with and manage relationships with external vendors providing database-related services or tools.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Participate in vendor selection and onboarding processes as required.
- Business User Management & Collaboration:
- Work closely with business users to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to business users on data-related queries and issues.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Gather requirements, provide feedback, and ensure that database solutions meet business needs.
- Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to established documentation standards.
- Compliance & Security:
- Adhere to data privacy and security policies and procedures.
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the database environment.
