Manager Sales and Costing
Job Description:
Role Overview:
The Sales & Costing professional will be responsible for end-to-end management of commercial proposals, cost estimation, client coordination, and supporting the sales function for LT panel 7& HT panels manufacturing. This dual-role position requires strong commercial acumen, technical understanding of electrical panels, and the ability to convert inquiries into successful orders while ensuring profitability and compliance with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
- Respond to inquiries from contractors, EPC firms, and industrial clients for HT/ LT panels and custom-built enclosures.
- Prepare and submit techno-commercial offers, quotations, and tender documents.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients and consultants to generate repeat business.
- Follow up on quotations, negotiate pricing, and close orders in line with company targets.
Costing & Estimation
- Analyze drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Determine cost of materials, components, labour, and overheads using internal databases and supplier quotations.
- Ensure pricing strategies meet profit margin expectations and market competitiveness.
- Maintain updated costing sheets, product pricing models, and standard BOMs.
Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with costing.
- Ensure timely handover of order details and technical specifications to execution teams.
- Maintain CRM and costing databases for reporting and reference.
Market & Competitor Analysis
- Track market trends, competitor pricing, and material costs to update quotation strategies.
- Support the leadership in strategic pricing decisions and product positioning.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Order conversion rate from quotations
- Accuracy of cost estimations vs actual cost
- Monthly/quarterly sales order booking value
- Client satisfaction and repeat orders
- Reduction in estimation errors or rework
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma / BE in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- 2 -4 years of experience in sales and costing, preferably in LT panel or electrical equipment manufacturing
- Experience in tendering, government/PSU projects, and EPC environments is an advantage
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and AutoCAD (for understanding layouts and SLDs)

- Knowledge of electrical panels (PCC, MCC, APFC, AMF, VFD panels etc.)
- Communication, persuasion, and client handling skills
- Commercial negotiation and documentation
