DGM - Quality Assurance(Construction Chemicals)
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Control & Assurance
-
Lead QC operations for all construction chemical products such as adhesives, sealants, waterproofing compounds, tile products, admixtures, grouts, etc.
-
Ensure strict adherence to quality standards (IS, ASTM, EN, ISO).

Develop and implement QC procedures, test methods, SOPs, and control plans.
-
Ensure raw material, in-process, and finished goods quality checks through approved testing protocols.
-
Manage product stability testing, batch release, and specification compliance.
2. Laboratory Management
-
Supervise central and plant laboratories and ensure proper calibration & maintenance of all instruments.
-
Implement advanced testing protocols and upgrade lab capabilities for new product categories.
-
Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results; ensure robust documentation and reporting.
3. Supplier & Raw Material Quality
-
Evaluate and approve new raw materials, vendors, and alternate sources.
-
Conduct supplier audits and enforce quality improvement programs.
-
Collaborate with procurement for vendor qualification and specification alignment.
4. Process Quality & Continuous Improvement
-
Drive root-cause analysis for quality issues (RCA, 5 Why, Fishbone, CAPA).
-
Implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and cost-optimization initiatives.

Monitor production processes and ensure standard parameter compliance.
5. New Product Development Support
-
Work closely with R&D for product formulation validation and scale-up.
-
Assist in pilot runs, performance testing, and commercialization of new products.
6. Customer Quality & Technical Support
-
Address customer complaints with detailed analysis and corrective measures.
-
Conduct site visits, technical training, and product performance evaluations.
-
Coordinate with Sales/Marketing to resolve quality concerns.
7. People Leadership
-
Lead and mentor QC teams across all manufacturing units.
-
Train chemists, technicians, and plant teams on quality standards & testing.
-
Build a high-performance culture within the quality department.
Key Skills & Competencies
-
Strong knowledge of construction chemicals (polymers, resins, admixtures, waterproofing, tile adhesives, epoxies).
-
Deep understanding of IS/ASTM/EN test methods & quality management systems.
-
Expertise in lab testing equipment & QC data management.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
-
Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma tools preferred.
Qualifications & Experience
-
M.Sc Chemistry / B.Tech – Chemical / Polymer / Materials Science.
-
12–18 years of experience in Quality Control/Assurance in Construction Chemicals or related industry.
-
Experience handling multi-plant QC operations is an advantage.
-
Six Sigma / ISO Auditor certification preferred.
