Job Description:

Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Chinese and Italian dishes to high standards of quality and presentation.
- Menu Development: Assist in planning and developing new menu items, daily specials, and recipes that align with the restaurant's vision.
- Food Safety & Hygiene:
- Ensure strict compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Monitor food storage and proper rotation of stock (following the FIFO rule) to minimize waste and spoilage.
- Check the freshness and quality of ingredients and supplies upon delivery and prior to use.
- Kitchen Operations & Management:
- Manage daily kitchen operations and collaborate with other staff members for seamless service delivery.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff in food preparation and safety standards.
- Monitor food costs, manage inventory levels, and order supplies as needed.
- Quality Control: Ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes, portion sizes, and customer preferences, including accommodating allergies or special dietary requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in a professional kitchen, with a specialization in Italian or Chinese cuisine (or both).
- Culinary Knowledge: Deep understanding of specific cooking techniques (e.g., stir-frying, pasta preparation, use of authentic spices/ingredients), flavor profiles, and kitchen equipment for both cuisines.
- Certifications: A culinary diploma or relevant certifications in food safety (e.g., HACCP guidelines) are often preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills are essential. The ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment is critical.
