Key responsibilities
- Team management: Supervise, train, and mentor production staff; monitor performance, provide guidance, and resolve conflicts.
- Production oversight: Manage daily production activities to ensure efficiency and quality, and meet delivery schedules.
- Quality control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications, identify and correct defects, and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to safety guidelines and company regulations, monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and investigate accidents or near-misses.
- Inventory and materials management: Monitor raw material and packaging supplies, and order new materials as needed.
- Coordination and communication: Liaise with other departments, such as production, quality assurance, and shipping, to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Process improvement: Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Equipment maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of production machinery, or coordinate with the maintenance department for support.
