Job Description:
A Sales Officer for a tyre shop is responsible for achieving sales targets, managing dealer relationships, and promoting products to achieve market penetration. Key duties include identifying new customers, providing product knowledge, monitoring sales performance, collecting market feedback, and assisting with store operations like inventory and customer service. The role requires strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills to ensure sales goals are met while maintaining customer satisfaction and brand visibility.
Key responsibilities
- Sales and business development:
- Achieve monthly, weekly, and daily sales targets.
- Develop and implement sales plans to drive primary and secondary sales.
- Identify and acquire new customers, dealers, and distributors in the assigned territory.
- Promote and sell tires, batteries, and other related products.
- Channel and customer management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers and retailers.
- Ensure effective product placement and visibility at the point of sale.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and resolve issues.
- Provide product information and quotes to customers.
- Market intelligence and strategy:
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Report market feedback, sales performance, and competitor insights to management.
- Analyze market trends to identify new business opportunities and expansion areas.
- Operational duties:
- Assist with daily shop operations, including managing inventory.
- Ensure timely collection of payments from customers as per company guidelines.
- Maintain sales data and prepare regular sales reports.
Required skills and qualifications
- Proven sales experience, preferably in the tyre, automotive, or retail industry.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of tyre sizes, specifications, and related products is often required.
- Ability to meet sales targets and work under pressure.
- Ability to use technology for sales reporting, customer relationship management (CRM), and data analysis.
- A valid driver's license may be necessary for field sales roles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as required, such as lifting or moving tires.
