Job Description:
An Executive Sales role in mining involves developing sales strategies, managing client relationships, and exceeding sales targets for mining equipment, software, or services. Responsibilities include market research, preparing proposals, collaborating with internal teams, and building strong customer relationships with key stakeholders like site heads and contractors. A strong technical understanding of the mining industry, combined with excellent communication, negotiation, and travel is crucial for success in this field. 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Strategy and planning: Develop and implement sales strategies, conduct market research, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Client management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, which may include mining contractors, processing plants, and OEMs.
  • Sales execution: Generate leads, prepare and present sales proposals and contracts, and achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Internal collaboration: Work with engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to deliver solutions and ensure smooth sales processes.
  • Reporting and analysis: Track sales performance, prepare regular reports, and provide market intelligence to management.
  • Customer support: Provide technical support, conduct product demonstrations, and ensure post-sales support.
  • Travel: Travel extensively to client sites, which are often remote, and attend industry events and conferences. 
 
Required qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Experience: Proven track record in sales, with experience in the mining, industrial, or heavy equipment sectors.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • A deep understanding of mining products, services, or software.
    • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to build strong relationships and work independently.
  • Key competencies:
    • Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
    • Adaptability and willingness to travel.
