Job Description:
Principal Accountability/ Key Result
Generation & Revenue
- Ensure system availability through effective preventive, breakdown, and predictive maintenance of HV/EHV assets.
- Track KPIs, grid conditions, and asset health to minimize downtime and improve MTBF/MTTR.
- Drive condition monitoring (thermal, oil, relay, PD/IR) and use diagnostic tools.
- Lead RCA, PFMEA, and corrective actions to prevent repeat issues and improve reliability.
- Complete shutdowns and annual maintenance on schedule and meet AEP targets.
Asset Availability & Reliability
Grid Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure compliance with CEA/CERC/RLDC/SLDC requirements, including protection audits, relay coordination, and grid conditions.
- Oversee grid compliance checks, statutory inspections, and closure of audit findings.
- Maintain documentation for events, disturbances, and regulatory submissions.
- Coordinate with Load Dispatch Centers for approvals, outages, synchronization, and compliance activities.
- Apply standards and best practices to maintain protection system and relay performance.
Plant availability/Fault Management & Restoration
- Lead technical response and restoration for transmission line faults, substation failures, and protection trips.
- Use systematic troubleshooting and investigation to prevent repeat faults.
- Improve event reporting, outage classification, root-cause documentation, and timely issue closure.
- Strengthen readiness through emergency plans, spare availability, and vendor mobilization.
- Cut outage time through faster diagnosis, skilled support, and remote monitoring tools.
Spare Parts & Resource Planning
- Prepare annual and long-term spare strategies for critical equipment (breakers, CT/PT, relays, LA, batteries, insulators, OPGW/HT cables etc).
- Track consumption trends, optimize inventory levels, and ensure procurement forecasts align with budget.
- Develop new vendors and negotiate contracts to reduce cost without compromising quality and delivery timelines.
- Maintain spare traceability, documentation, and stock audits for compliance and operational readiness.
Project Handover & Technical Due Diligence
Lead the operational acceptance of new Wind & Solar project eBoP infra by reviewing as-built documentation, testing reports, protection settings, and SCADA integration.
- Identify punch points, evaluate EPC deliverables, and ensure closure prior to O&M takeover.
- Conduct technical due diligence for asset acquisitions, assessing risk, design adequacy, and compliance gaps.
- Provide recommendations on mitigation measures, upgrade requirements, and future O&M implications.
- Collaborate closely with EPC, Engineering, and Quality teams for seamless transition into operational phase.
Job Context:
The eBoP O&M/ Asset Management Lead operates in a complex, multi-state renewable energy environment, overseeing a large and diversified fleet of Wind and Solar assets comprising HV/EHV
substations, transmission lines, switchyards, protection systems, and associated grid-interface equipment.
The role encompasses technical governance of more than 50+ substations and extensive transmission
infrastructure, requiring deep expertise in electrical systems, grid compliance, and O&M process management.
Working at the corporate level, the jobholder is responsible for defining, standardizing, and implementing robust O&M strategies, including preventive, predictive, and condition-based monitoring, to optimize
asset reliability and lifecycle performance. The position demands coordination with EPC, Projects, Digital/SCADA teams, regulatory bodies (CEA, CERC, RLDC/SLDC), and multiple internal stakeholders to
ensure seamless asset takeover, operational readiness, and statutory compliance.

Approval of electrical installations (substations, transmission lines, switchyards).

- Real-time coordination for scheduling, shutdown approvals, and synchronization.
Ensuring grid code compliance (reactive power, frequency support, fault ride- through).
