Deputy Mgr/ Manager- Lead Forecasting and Scheduling, O and M for Solar power business, HO, Mumbai

Job Description:

The role operates at the intersection of O and M, commercial, and regulatory functions to ensure the organization maintains accurate visibility of schedules, deviations, and DSM liabilities across its renewable portfolio. While QCAs manage day-to-day forecasting, scheduling, and compliance submissions, this role validates data integrity, conducts DSM analysis, and provides actionable insights to minimize penalties.

Close coordination is required with state utilities, QCAs, OA consultants, finance, and site teams to ensure timely onboarding, settlements, and risk-managed operations.

Major Challenges: (Maximum-3)

1. Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of forecast, schedule, and DSM databases from multiple QCAs, states, and asset classes.
2. Managing frequent regulatory changes, shifting DSM frameworks, and Open Access constraints across states.
3. Achieving DSM optimisation across diverse portfolios while coordinating with multiple stakeholders and dealing with varying grid/irradiance variability.

Forecast & Schedule Database Accuracy

 Maintain a centralized, continuously updated database of all DA/I-D schedules, revisions, and forecast files from QCAs.
 Cross-check QCA submissions for completeness, timestamp accuracy, and version consistency.
 Flag data gaps, anomalies, or missing revisions and follow up proactively with QCAs and site teams.
 Develop automated checks/reports to ensure schedule and forecast history is tracked for audits and optimization.
 Ensure continuous improvement of asset performance through data-driven solutions and predictive maintenance.

DSM Analysis and Optimization

 Analyse DSM charges on daily/weekly/monthly basis and identify patterns of deviations for both Solar and Wind assets.
 Prepare dashboards highlighting state-wise and asset-wise DSM performance, root causes, and financial impacts.
 Identify optimisation opportunities (revision timing, QCA behaviour, forecast accuracy trends) and drive corrective actions with relevant teams.
 Benchmark forecast accuracy across QCAs and provide recommendations to improve performance and reduce DSM liability.

Operational and Regulatory Enablement (Open Access, Onboarding & Compliance Support)

 Manage Open Access procedural requirements—NOCs, MTOA/STOA applications, long-term OA renewals, and schedule alignment.
 Coordinate end-to-end onboarding of new sites into DSM regime: QCA appointment, meter integration, schedule linkage, and regulatory filings.
 Track state-specific DSM/RRF/WPD/RPO rules to ensure internal processes are aligned with current regulations.
 Maintain communication with SLDCs/SERCs/QCAs for updates affecting scheduling, settlements, or OA operations.

Billing, Invoicing & Settlements (Forecasting/DSM/Open Access)

 Validate DSM invoices received from QCAs/SLDCs and reconcile them with internal DSM database.
 Coordinate with Finance to ensure timely payments, dispute resolutions, and adjustments based on approved analyses.
 Track OA charges, schedule fees, QCA invoices, and state-wise settlement cycles.
 Maintain a clear audit trail of all DSM and OA-related financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
