Job Description:
Core responsibilities
- Design and development: Create and design new instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes.
- Installation and maintenance: Install, set up, test, and maintain control systems and equipment to ensure they are running effectively.
- Monitoring and control: Monitor process data, troubleshoot issues, and implement control strategies to optimize performance, efficiency, and safety.
- System programming: Develop and implement control plans using software like Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Calibration and testing: Calibrate, test, and verify the accuracy of instruments and control systems.
- Collaboration and reporting: Work with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders, prepare technical reports, and present findings.
- Safety and compliance: Identify and mitigate safety hazards, and ensure all systems comply with relevant safety and quality standards.
Key skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and correcting issues.
- Knowledge of control systems, including PLC, DCS, and SCADA.
- Familiarity with instrumentation, such as sensors for temperature, pressure, and flow.
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for preparing drawings.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with other professionals.
- Understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
