Job Title: Head of Sales, Marketing & Business Development – Rigid Plastics

 

Experience: 10+ year’s experience

 

Location:Nigeria (Base: Lagos or Kaduna)

Extensive travel across Nigeria required

 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.

 

Role Overview:

Head of Sales, Marketing & Business Development – Rigid Plastics to lead its growth agenda. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, customer relationships, and brand positioning across the rigid plastics portfolio, including PET preforms, bottles, jars, and Jerry cans. The successful candidate will build strong customer partnerships, lead a high-performing commercial team, and work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver profitable and sustainable growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute the overall sales strategy for the rigid plastics business.
  • Drive growth across existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Own sales targets, pricing strategy, and margin performance.
  • Lead negotiations with key customers and close high-value commercial
  • Ensure effective follow-up on customer accounts and timely collection of payments in coordination with Finance.

 

Business Development & Market Expansion

 

  • Identify new markets, customer segments, and product opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers across FMCG,beverage, dairy, industrial, and consumer goods sectors.
  • Translate market insights into actionable growth initiatives and new product
  • Support expansion into new regions and applications for rigid plastic packaging.

 

 

Marketing & Brand Development

 

  • Define and implement marketing strategies to strengthen Poly Products’ market
  • Oversee development of sales and marketing materials, presentations, and promotional content.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
  • Track competitor activities, pricing trends, and market developments.

 

 

Team Leadership & Performance Management

 

  • Build, lead, and motivate a strong sales and business development team.
  • Set clear performance targets and KPIs aligned with company objectives.
  • Coach and develop team members to improve selling skills and customer engagement.
  • Foster a performance-driven, accountable, and customer-focused culture.

 

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

 

 

  • Work closely with Production, Planning, Logistics, Quality, and Finance to ensure:
  • Accurate demand planning
  • Timely order fulfillment
  • Alignment between customer commitments and operational capacity

 

  • Act as the key commercial interface between customers and internal teams.

 

Reporting & Management Information

 

  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates for senior
  • Monitor sales performance, margins, and market share.
  • Provide market intelligence and strategic input to support management decision-making.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree inBusiness Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience in sales and business development within rigid plastics or packaging manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership experience managing sales teams and key customer
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on in execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Nigeria.
