Job Title: Water Quality Chemist (Water Park/Recreational Water)
Position Summary
The Water Quality Chemist is responsible for the daily monitoring, testing, and balancing of all water features, including swimming pools, slides, lazy rivers, and water treatment systems. This role ensures all water meets strict health, safety, and regulatory compliance standards for guest usage.

Key Responsibilities
- Water Testing & Monitoring: Perform regular, daily testing of water samples for pH, free chlorine, total chlorine, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and cyanuric acid.
- Chemical Management: Calculate, prepare, and dose water treatment chemicals (chlorine, acid, soda ash, stabilizer) to maintain optimal water chemistry.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all water bodies comply with local, state, and environmental health regulations regarding sanitization.
- System Troubleshooting: Monitor filtration systems, chemical feeders, and pumps to ensure optimal performance; troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of test results, chemical consumption, and maintenance activities for regulatory reporting.
- Safety Protocols: Implement and follow Safe System of Work (SSoW) frameworks, including proper handling and storage of chemicals.
- Data Analysis: Interpret laboratory test data to identify trends and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience with water testing protocols, ideally in a pool or industrial water treatment environment.
- Knowledge of sanitation principles, specifically regarding bacterial control in recreational water.
- Proficiency in data entry, Excel, and report writing.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational demands.
