Civil Substation Design Engineer (High Voltage)

Job Description:

A Civil Design Engineer designs the civil and structural components of substations, including buildings, foundations, site grading, and underground utilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Design and Analysis:

• Develop civil and structural design of RCC & Steel structures for substation buildings & equipments including precast and cast-in-situ components of Lattice structures.
• Design and analyze structural systems for cable tunnels, trenches, duct banks, manholes, and underground utilities.
• Design foundations for outdoor equipment like surge arresters, power transformers, static VAR generators (SVG) and design calculation of Lattice structure for equipments.
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and documentation for substation projects and BBS, BOM preparation.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.

 Coordination and Collaboration:

• Work closely with electrical engineers, other disciplines, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and safe solutions.
• Coordinate with site execution teams to address any design-related issues.

Project Management:

• Create civil-structural project scopes, estimates, budgets, and schedules for substation projects.
•  Review designs and drawings, and provide technical clarifications.

Technical Expertise:

• Possess a strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles.
• Be familiar with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Have experience with CAD software and other design tools.
•  Software Knowledge: AutoCAD, Stud Pro, ETAB

Other Tasks:

• Collect project details from clients and vendors.
• Review and approve vendor drawings and specifications.
• Provide technical support to site execution teams.
• Participate in pre-award vendor evaluations.
