Job Description:
An Area Sales Manager (ASM) drives sales in a specific territory by leading a local team, setting targets, developing strategies, managing key client relationships, analyzing market data, and ensuring overall regional performance meets company goals, balancing team motivation with personal sales efforts and reporting to senior management. Key duties involve strategy execution, team coaching, performance tracking, market intelligence, and client engagement to boost brand awareness and profit.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement regional sales plans, identify new opportunities, and adapt to market trends.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve targets.
- Performance Management: Set targets, monitor team and individual performance, analyze data, and report results to upper management.
- Client & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong ties with existing and potential clients, delivering presentations and ensuring satisfaction.
- Market Analysis: Keep updated on competitor activities, market intelligence, and customer feedback to refine strategies.
- Operational Duties: Manage budgets, handle sales reports, and sometimes manage personal sales, ensuring efficient processes.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree (Marketing, Business, etc.).
- Experience: Proven sales management/leadership background.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Technical: Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
