Operator - Forklift

Job Description:

•  Safety
  - Maintain forklift inspection checklist (daily/ weekly) and coordinate with maintenance team for
  required preventive and routine maintenance activities.
   Vision
  - Ability to work without supervision, clear focused, ethical and follow the std work plan.
   Expectations
  - To successfully move materials through the facility. The incumbent will perform general duties
  including; material receiving, picking, packing and processing orders (where applicable) in the system,
  and executing other related require activities of date-to-date operations as assigned in a manner that
  meets standards for safety, quality, productivity and accuracy.

   Accountability
  - Follow the safety and instructions while executing day-to-day shift production activities.
  - Ensure forklift safety check before startup and report in case any abnormality.
  - Operate a forklift to move material through facility (i.e. forklift, manual stackers) as required.
  - Provide materials and components (tolls, die and other equipment) to the line by physically moving
  them from stock points along the line, off trailers, racks and from other storage areas.
  - Interact with logistics/ warehouses to work as a team when receive or moved the materials
  - Actively communicate with supervisors and production operators to effectively handle material and
  notify problems/concerns (if any).
  - Properly document work reports to guarantee the right inventory control and securely stored.
  - Assist in the effective completion of inventory audits by cross checking products and informing
  production supervisor/engineer of any discrepancies.
  - Ensure product or packing material cleaned and stored in safe way at designated areas
  - Ensure scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping, and place in proper containers or designated place
  and these waste moved as per defined procedures
  - Use safe tools such as hammers, cutter to remove strapping, open crates, strap cars.
  - Promote a clean, safe and positive work environment and ensure that all company safety procedures
  followed including OSHA compliance guidelines.
  - Maintain shift wise logbooks as per defined standard /operating procedure/ work instructions.
  - Ensure grey recycle safely stored and inventory being maintained as per the instructions

  - Learn Grey Grinder operation and support grinder operator for safe and efficient PE operation
  - Maintain excellent 5S /housekeeping standards in work area.
  - Other duties, responsibilities may be required and/or assigned as necessary like support to PE
  process other activities.

  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
  - Education:
  - High school or ITI with at last 5 years’ experience of warehouse/material handling preferred.
  - Must hold a valid forklift operator license from a recognized training provider.
  - Professional experience:
  - Accountability for safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.
  - Proven forklift driving skill/ Valid HMV License with Medical Fitness.
  - Ability to lift up to 50 Kg and work for long periods standing with frequent stopping and bending.
  - Languages:
  - English, Hindi (verbal, reading and written), Gujarati as added advantage
  - Know-how:
  - Basic understanding of ISO 9001/ 14001/ OHSAS management system
  - Sound knowledge of material handing in continuous manufacturing
