Job Description: Government Liaison Officer
Position: Government Liaison Officer (Manger/ Dy. GM)
Department: HR / IR / Liaison
Reporting To: GM / HOD – HR & IR / Operations Head
Key Responsibilities:
1. Government Liaison & Coordination
Act as the primary point of contact between the company and Government bodies such as IBM, Mining Department, DFO Office, District Collectorate, SPCB, Labour Department, and other authorities.
Liaise regularly for statutory submissions, approvals, inspections, and compliance-related matters.
Follow up on file movements, approval statuses, and license/permit renewals.
Ensure timely submission of required documents, reports, returns, and compliances to concerned departments.
2. Statutory Compliance & Documentation
Assist in preparation and submission of monthly/annual returns to IBM, DGMS, Mining Department, Pollution Control Board, and Labour/Factory authorities.
Maintain updated records of mining leases, land documents, consent orders, EC, FC, safety compliances, and all liaison-related documentation.
Ensure compliance with Government norms, mining regulations, environmental laws, and labour laws related to mining operations.
3. Approvals, Permissions & Renewals
Coordinate for obtaining and renewing:
Mining Plan and Scheme approvals
EC/FC clearances
CTO/CTE from State Pollution Control Board
Explosive licenses, transit passes, weighing permissions
Consent, quarry permits, and dispatch clearances
Ensure no lapse in statutory permissions affecting operations.
4. Relationship Management
Build and maintain professional relationships with officers at IBM, Directorate of Mines, DFO, Tahasildar, SPCB, Labour Department, and district administration.
Represent the company during Government meetings, inspections, hearings, and official interactions.
Ensure the company’s presence and goodwill in Government forums and public bodies.
5. Coordination with Internal Teams
Support Operations, HR/IR, Legal, Environment, and Safety teams in obtaining necessary approvals.
Update management regularly on Government notifications, new regulations, policy changes, and compliance requirements.
Assist in handling land issues, local administration matters, and statutory record audits.
6. Reporting & Communication
Prepare MIS reports on liaison activities, compliance status, pending approvals, and risks.
Escalate critical issues to management with timely solutions and action plans.
Qualifications & Experience:
Graduate / post-graduate in any discipline.
Preferred: MBA/PGDM, LLB, or specialization in Mining/IR/Administration.
Experience: 5–15 years in Government liaisoning, preferably in Mining, Steel, Power, or Infrastructure sector.
Strong knowledge of IBM processes, mining rules, environmental norms, and statutory mining compliances
