Our Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and Technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes.
The Principal Accountant (SSC Master data) is responsible for managing and governing end-to-end master data processes that support the SSC-managed functions: Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Employee Expense Management (EEM), and General Ledger (GL). This role ensures data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with global standards while leading operational execution, continuous improvement, and stakeholder collaboration across regions. Based in Pune, India, this role requires close collaboration with BPO partner Accenture, corporate and local Finance teams, the Accounts Payable team, internal and external auditors, as well as the IT Support team.

Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Oversee end-to-end master data creation, maintenance, and validation for P2P, EEM, and GL processes.
- Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and adherence to global governance and internal control standards.
- Conduct regular data quality reviews and drive corrective/preventive actions to improve data integrity.
- Serve as SME for master data processes and support system enhancements, testing, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, HR, IT, and Control Tower teams to ensure seamless data operations.
- Manage escalations, communicate performance metrics, and provide insights to stakeholders.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in master data management within a Shared Service Center or global operations environment.
- Strong knowledge of P2P, EEM, and GL processes and their master data dependencies.
- Hands-on experience with SAP/Oracle/Workday or similar ERP platforms.
- Proven experience leading a small team and working in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.
