Job Summary
Company is seeking an experienced Cost & Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate cost estimates for fabrication machinery and related projects. The role involves detailed analysis of drawings, materials, labor, machining, and fabrication processes to support competitive bidding, cost control, and project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs based on engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
* Analyze raw material costs, machining, fabrication, assembly, and overhead expenses
* Coordinate with design, production, procurement, and sales teams to gather inputs for accurate estimation
* Evaluate vendor quotations and assist in vendor cost comparison and negotiation support
* Prepare quotation cost sheets for standard and customized fabrication machines
* Monitor cost variations during execution and support cost control and budget adherence
* Maintain estimation databases, pricing models, and historical cost records
* Support management in profitability analysis and pricing strategies
* Ensure compliance with internal standards and quality requirements
Required Skills & Competencies
* Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, machining, welding, and manufacturing methods
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and BOMs
* Good understanding of materials, costing methods, and manufacturing cycles
* Experience with costing software, Excel, and ERP systems
* Analytical mindset with attention to detail
* Good communication and coordination skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in fabrication machinery or industrial equipment manufacturing
* Exposure to tendering, quotation preparation, and project costing
* Knowledge of value engineering and cost optimization techniques
