Job Description:
A Loading/Unloading Supervisor manages daily material movement, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate loading/unloading of goods by leading teams, enforcing safety protocols, coordinating with other departments (warehouse, transport), maintaining records (LRs, Challans), and resolving operational issues, requiring strong leadership, organization, and knowledge of safety/inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Coordination: Oversee staff and operations for inbound/outbound shipments (trucks, trains, ships).
- Safety Compliance: Enforce health, safety, and security standards (PPE, proper handling) to prevent accidents and damage.
- Workflow Management: Assign tasks, manage team productivity, and ensure smooth workflow.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain essential paperwork like delivery receipts, loading/unloading logs, and challans.
- Inventory Control: Track incoming/outgoing goods, verify quantities, and maintain accurate stock records.
- Problem Solving: Address discrepancies, damaged goods, or workflow bottlenecks.
- Reporting: Maintain operational data and report on production/shipment results.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or loading/unloading operations.
- Leadership: Strong ability to guide, motivate, and manage teams.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and record-keeping.
- Communication: Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Technical: Basic understanding of inventory management and relevant software.
- Attributes: High concentration, ability to work in fast-paced environments, and good decision-making.
