Job Description:
A PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Operator job involves programming, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated industrial systems, focusing on ensuring smooth operation, optimizing performance, and integrating with other equipment like HMIs and VFDs, requiring strong electrical/automation knowledge, problem-solving skills, and collaboration with engineering/production teams to meet safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming & Development: Develop, modify, test, and commission PLC programs (Ladder Logic, FBD) for new and existing automation projects.
- Monitoring & Control: Oversee automated systems, monitor real-time data, and control processes via PLCs and HMI screens.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware/software faults and performance issues in PLC systems.
- System Integration: Interface PLCs with sensors, actuators, SCADA, VFDs, and robotics.
- Collaboration: Work with mechanical, electrical, and production teams to gather requirements and provide support.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and reports.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and quality protocols.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Technical diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in major PLC brands (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI/SCADA, Ladder Logic, VFDs, sensors, and control panel drawings.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience: Hands-on experience in industrial automation, troubleshooting, and providing technical support.
