A Coal Mine Project Coordinator manages daily mining activities, ensuring production targets, safety (MSHA/DGMS), compliance, and budget goals are met by coordinating teams, equipment (HEMM), resources, and stakeholders, handling schedules, reporting (MIS, progress), and liaising with government/local bodies for smooth project execution from planning to closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Planning: Develop & implement action plans, meet coal/overburden targets, optimize resource (HEMM, manpower) use, manage schedules, and align activities with mine plans.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all statutory regulations (DGMS, Electrical, Safety) and internal SOPs, conduct risk assessments, and promote a strong safety culture.
- Coordination & Communication: Facilitate seamless communication between engineers, operators, contractors, and management; manage documentation (minutes, reports).
- Resource & Budget Management: Track and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, allocate resources, and manage procurement.
- Reporting & Monitoring: Prepare progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly), manage MIS, track quantities, and report on key performance indicators.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate and build relationships with government authorities, local communities, and other external parties.
- Problem Solving: Identify issues impacting timelines/budgets and work with teams to find effective solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Typical)
- Engineering degree (Civil/Mechanical) or diploma in relevant fields.
- Strong Excel skills and project management workflow understanding.
- Knowledge of Mine Health & Safety Act (MSHA/DGMS).
- Experience with Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) operations.
