Job Description:
An Electrician DRI (Design, Research, Implementation) job involves designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical systems, wiring, and components, focusing on creating new systems (Design), improving them (Research), and putting them into action (Implementation), requiring blueprint reading, troubleshooting, safety code compliance (NEC), and technical skill with testing equipment for residential, commercial, or industrial settings. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design & Development: Develop electrical system layouts, blueprints, and plans, ensuring they meet requirements and standards.
  • Installation: Install and maintain wiring, conduit, lighting, motors, generators, and control systems.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot electrical issues, repair or replace faulty wiring, equipment, and components (breakers, transformers, drives) using various tools.
  • Testing & Inspection: Inspect existing systems, test conductivity, and ensure safe operation and code compliance (NEC, local codes).
  • Research: Investigate and test new methods, equipment, and designs for electrical applications.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to electrical codes, safety regulations (OSHA), and standards, identifying hazards. 
 
Key Skills & Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Reading blueprints/schematics, using multimeters, pipe benders, hand/power tools, working with PLCs/drives.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical theory, codes, and systems (HVAC, power distribution).
  • Experience: Completion of an apprenticeship or relevant technical degree (ITI/Technical College).
  • Attributes: Problem-solving, attention to detail, physical stamina, teamwork.
