Job Description:
An Assistant Purchase (Purchasing Assistant) supports a company's procurement by handling administrative tasks, monitoring inventory, researching vendors, processing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, negotiating prices, and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for the business. They work under a Purchasing Manager or Buyer, ensuring smooth operations and efficient supply chains. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Vendor Management: Researching suppliers, obtaining quotes, negotiating prices, building relationships, and resolving issues.
  • Order Processing: Preparing, placing, and tracking purchase orders (POs) from creation to delivery.
  • Inventory Control: Monitoring stock levels, identifying needs, and coordinating with warehouse staff.
  • Data & Reporting: Maintaining purchasing records, updating databases, and preparing reports on purchases and costs.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborating with other departments (like finance, warehouse) to understand needs and facilitate smooth receipt of goods.
  • Market Research: Staying informed on market trends and pricing to find the best deals for the company. 
 
Essential Skills & Requirements
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing software.
  • Knowledge of supply chain procedures and market trends.
  • Problem-solving skills for discrepancies and delays.
  • Often requires a high school diploma, with some roles preferring a degree in a related field.
