Business Development Sales – Assistant Manager – Job Description
Position: BD Assistant Manager, Govt Projects Sales – Plastic Piping Division,
Report to: General Manager.
1. Job Description
Responsible for developing PVC-O pipe, Manhole, HDPE / DWC & drainage pipes sales in
West & South region – Plastic piping division. Responsible to ensure that the Agreed PVC-O
Pipes, Manhole, & Plastic Piping division Budget targets are realised.
2. General Role:
Network with stakeholders of Water & Sewerage verticals including EPC, consultant,
regulatory authorities, municipal corporations, and financial institutions.
Meeting with Policy makers of Water Utilities / Municipal Corporations & Councils for Product presentation & demo.
Meeting with Technical Engineers, Consultants of Municipal Corporations & Councils in assigned region
Coordinate information & Focus on Urban & Rural Water & Sewerage supply project
verticals Identification of opportunities in each vertical.
Provide support to prepare tech & financial estimate of water pipeline work for PVC-O Pipe
material inclusion at planning stage
Provide support to prepare tech & financial estimate of sewerage pipeline work for Manhole & DWC Pipe material inclusion at planning stage
Tender development and Support Prospective Bidders for Bid submission of PVC-O Pipe, Manhole, HDPE, DWC & UPVC Drainage pipe tenders.
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of market demands as well as clients’ needs.
Negotiate commercial terms.
3. Responsibility:
Fulfil Sales Target – PVC-O Pipe, Manholes & Plastic Piping Division.
Maintaining and updating sales management system like Project Mapping list, Establishing new contacts with Municipal Corporations and Councils in India.
Penetration of OPVC Pipe, Manhole concept in various Urban & Rural & Irrigation WS projects, Govt. funded projects, Village councils’ projects & Water Resource requirements.
Identify prospective Bidders / Infra Companies and support them for Tender bidding / submission.
Keep watch on Competitors activity in Indian market and inform to Marketing & product team.
Attending Sales enquiries & conduct product demos.
Support colleagues by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
4. Competence:
Diploma/ Degree in Civil or mechanical engineering
At least 8 to 10 years’ experience
Experience dealing with municipal clients for Pipes / Valves business
Independently plan visits with Policy makers / Engg staff of Government Municipal
corporations to develop PVC-O Pipe & Manhole concept.
Efficiently plan sales activities with the Prospective Corporations, Contractors, Consultants and other stakeholders, aim to achieve the sales targets.

Support leading Water supply consultants for DPR, Financial Estimate & Tender document preparation.
Coordination with marketing department for Customer performance report preparation.
