Job Description:
A Water Treatment Draftsman creates technical drawings for water/wastewater facilities, converting engineering designs into detailed plans for P&IDs, plant layouts, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil structures, ensuring accuracy and compliance using AutoCAD and related software, coordinating closely with engineers for design finalization. Key duties include preparing General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Isometric drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and ensuring documentation for client approval and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drawing Production: Develop detailed General Arrangement (GA), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Isometric, & sectional drawings for treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and civil structures.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize AutoCAD (2D/3D), SolidWorks, or Revit for drafting.
- Coordination: Work with engineers, project managers, and site teams to translate concepts into manufacturable designs.
- Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and support as-built drawings.
- Technical Input: Provide input for procurement, fabrication, and site installation.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all drawings meet company, industry, and regulatory standards.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Proven drafting experience in Water Treatment Plants (WTP) or Sewage Treatment Plants (STP).
- Software: Strong skills in AutoCAD are mandatory; 3D software knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge: Understanding of water treatment processes, piping, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong communication, and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
