Job Description:
A real estate Planning Engineer is the mastermind behind project execution. They turn architectural blueprints into on-time deliverables by crafting detailed schedules, tracking milestones, and identifying roadblocks. They serve as the critical bridge between design, procurement, and on-site execution teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. [1, 2, 3]
Key Responsibilities
- Project Scheduling: Develop, manage, and update detailed project baseline schedules using tools like MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Progress Monitoring: Conduct regular site visits to track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against planned baselines.
- Risk & Delay Management: Analyze potential bottlenecks (materials, labor, weather, supply chain) and prepare delay-catchup or contingency plans.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the central hub connecting site execution teams, contractors, architects, billing, and procurement departments.
- Reporting: Prepare Management Information System (MIS) reports, look-ahead plans, and presentations for project review meetings.
- Resource & Cost Planning: Assist in forecasting material and labor requirements, and support the billing and invoicing certification process. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Experience: Typically 7-10+ years in residential, commercial, or mixed-use real estate project planning.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in project planning software (MS Project, Primavera P6) and MS Office suite.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively coordinate multiple stakeholder teams
