Job Title: IT Courses – Centre Head

 

Job Summary

The IT Courses– Centre Head is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the end-to-end execution of IT training programs across multiple centres. This role ensures smooth batch operations, effective trainer management, curriculum alignment, student coordination, and achievement of academic and enrolment targets across all IT courses.

The position also plays a strategic role in the expansion of IT courses, including the introduction of new industry-relevant programs and the enhancement and expansion of existing courses through curriculum upgrades, advanced modules, and certification alignment. The role supports scaling IT training offerings in line with organizational growth and market demand.

Key Responsibilities

Academic & Training Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee delivery of IT courses such as Software Development, Data Analytics, Networking, Cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure curriculum alignment with industry standards, certification requirements, and market needs.
  • Coordinate with trainers for session planning, batch schedules, assessments, and timely course completion.
  • Monitor training quality, student attendance, assessments, and overall academic performance.

Course Expansion & Development

  • Identify opportunities for expansion of IT courses based on market demand, industry trends, and organizational goals.
  • Drive enhancement and expansion of existing courses through curriculum updates, advanced modules, and new certifications.
  • Collaborate with industry partners, trainers, and internal stakeholders to launch new courses and scale existing programs across centres.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead, guide, and manage IT course coordinators and support staff.
  • Allocate responsibilities and ensure timely execution of academic and operational tasks.
  • Conduct regular reviews, provide mentoring, and support team performance improvement.

 

Student & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for students regarding academic and course-related matters.
  • Handle escalations related to batches, trainers, schedules, or course delivery.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, certification bodies, industry partners, and placement teams (where applicable).

Operations & Compliance

  • Manage batch planning, timetables, lab utilization, and academic documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to internal SOPs, funding guidelines, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, assessments, certifications, and course completion reports.

Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Track key performance indicators such as enrolments, batch execution, completion rates, certification success, and placements (if applicable).
  • Prepare MIS and performance reports and present updates to management.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and improvement areas, and implement corrective actions.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and LMS/ERP systems

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Management, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in IT training coordination, academic operations, or skill development programs
  • Prior experience in leading teams or heading training programs preferred
