Job Description:
A Head Sinter Plant Project Job Description involves leading operations, maintenance, quality, and safety for the sinter plant, focusing on producing high-quality sinter for blast furnaces through process optimization, team management (engineers, operators), budget control, and adherence to safety/environmental standards, requiring extensive experience in heavy industry processes like sintering, blast furnace maintenance, and utilizing analytical tools like FMEA and RCA.
- Operations & Production: Oversee daily production, ensuring targets are met, optimizing raw material usage (iron ore, coke, fluxes), managing sintering machine operations (ignition, moisture control, cooling, screening).
- Maintenance & Reliability: Manage maintenance activities (preventive & breakdown), ensuring availability of utilities, and applying reliability tools (MTBF, MTTR, FMEA, RCA) for equipment like conveyors, pug mills, fans, and sinter machines.
- Quality Control: Implement quality assurance, monitor sinter quality parameters, and control process variables to meet specifications.
- Safety & Environment: Enforce strict safety protocols (hazard prevention, PPE), manage environmental compliance, and ensure proper handling of dust, gas, and emissions.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, manage, and develop plant staff, including engineers, operators, and supervisors.
- Project Management: Handle project execution, technical feasibility studies, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Strategic Planning: Align plant performance with business plans, analyze production data, and drive continuous improvement.
- Education: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy.
- Experience: 10-15+ years in sinter plant operations, blast furnace maintenance, or heavy industrial plant management.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of sintering processes, raw materials, quality parameters, PLC/DCS systems, and maintenance methodologies (RCA, FMEA).
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, communication, and safety consciousness.
