Job Description:
A Quality Engineer (QE) requires a bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related field, typically with 2–5 years of manufacturing experience, focusing on ISO standards, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis. Key qualifications include proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), data analysis tools (Minitab), and certifications like ASQ-CQE or Six Sigma.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical) or a related technical field is essential.
- Experience: 2–5 years in quality assurance, quality control, or a manufacturing environment is preferred, though entry-level roles exist.
- Core Competencies: Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 9001 standards, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis (Excel, Minitab), statistical process control (SPC), and, in some industries, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) or coding (SQL, Python).
- Certifications (Preferred): ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills.
Common Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing inspection plans and, for instance, checking for defects in manufacturing processes.
- Monitoring production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards (SOPs).
- Conducting root cause analysis for non-conforming products (NCRs).
