Job Description:
A Computer Operator manages and monitors computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, ensuring systems run efficiently by initiating commands, maintaining data backups, and troubleshooting technical issues. They are responsible for data entry, system maintenance, and adhering to security protocols within data centers or office environments. 
Key Responsibilities
  • System Operation: Monitor consoles, run production jobs, and manage peripheral equipment like printers and scanners.
  • Data Management: Perform data entry, updates, and regular backups to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Install software updates, perform routine maintenance, and diagnose hardware/software malfunctions.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce data security protocols, such as password management and restricted access.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of system activities and performance. 
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with operating systems (Windows/Linux), MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), and basic networking.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to follow complex instructions and troubleshoot issues.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry and monitoring.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in IT or related fields are preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a computer operator or in a data center environment is often required. 
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a, sometimes, fast-paced environment, often requiring sitting for long periods.
  • May require lifting or moving computer equipment.
