Job Description:
Role & responsibilities
- Project planning and coordination:Develop project plans, including timelines and resource allocation, and coordinate all on-site activities to ensure they align with project goals.
- Personnel management:Hire and manage construction workers, including general contractors and subcontractors, delegating tasks and ensuring their work meets quality standards.
- Safety and quality control:Conduct regular safety inspections, implement safety programs, and ensure all work meets quality standards and adheres to project specifications and building codes.
- Materials and logistics:Select and order tools and materials, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery and proper storage. Track material usage to minimize waste.
- Budget and schedule management:Create and manage project budgets, monitor spending, and ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
- Reporting and documentation:Prepare and maintain accurate project reports, schedules, and legal documentation. Review and approve change orders.
- Communication:Act as the main point of contact between clients, architects, engineers, and the construction crew, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Risk assessment:Identify potential problems, assess and minimize risks, and develop solutions for any issues that arise on site
Preferred candidate profile
- Education:A bachelor's or Diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is often required.
- Experience:Several years of experience in construction management or a similar leadership role is typically needed.
- Technical knowledge:A deep understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and legal regulations is essential.
- Leadership:Strong leadership abilities to inspire and direct project teams.
- Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
