Job Description:
An Automation Engineer in a panel manufacturing company designs, programs, and implements control systems (PLC/HMI/SCADA) for electrical panels, enhancing production efficiency, accuracy, and safety. They bridge design and production, performing panel wiring, testing, and commissioning to meet client requirements while optimizing manufacturing automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Programming: Develop PLC programs (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA systems to automate panel functionality.
- Panel Assembly & Testing: Supervise the wiring and testing of electrical control panels to ensure compliance with standards and technical specifications.
- System Integration & Commissioning: Install, test, and commission automated equipment and panels at client sites (Site Acceptance Test - SAT).
- Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement automation solutions to improve production speed and efficiency.
- Documentation: Create detailed documentation, including schematics, operating manuals, and project reports.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with automated systems, including field instruments, motors, and drives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automation Engineering.
- Experience: 3-8 years in industrial automation, PLC programming, and panel wiring.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text), HMI/SCADA, and CAD software for electrical schematics.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (Profinet/Profibus), electrical standards, and safety regulations.
