Job Description:
A Dispatch Officer in a steel manufacturing company manages the daily logistical operations of shipping finished steel products (TMT bars, ingots, coils) to customers. Key responsibilities include coordinating with production/sales teams, scheduling transportation, preparing dispatch documents (invoices, challans), and ensuring timely, safe, and accurate deliveries while maintaining inventory records. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Dispatch Operations: Coordinate the daily dispatch schedule based on production output and customer orders, ensuring timely shipment of materials.
  • Logistics & Transport: Liaise with transporters, negotiate freight rates, and assign vehicles for loading. Monitor vehicle movement and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate, legally compliant paperwork, including Delivery Challans, Tax Invoices, E-Way bills, and Gate Passes.
  • Inventory & Loading: Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to verify inventory levels and supervise the safe loading of steel products to prevent damage or shortages.
  • System Updation: Update dispatch status, stock levels, and daily reports in the ERP system (SAP, Tally, or similar).
  • Customer Liaison: Communicate with sales teams and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: 3–5 years in dispatch, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry.
  • Education: Graduate in any discipline (Commerce, Logistics, or Supply Chain management preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Tally.
  • Core Competencies: Strong communication, negotiation skills, ability to work under pressure, and knowledge of route planning.
