Job Description:
A Manager in Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) Production oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and optimization of steel billet/slab casting to ensure high-quality production, safety compliance, and efficiency. They plan production schedules, manage technical teams, and maintain machinery (moulds, cooling) to meet production goals, reducing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Operations: Supervise end-to-end CCM operations to meet daily/monthly production targets.
- Quality Control: Ensure produced billets/slabs meet strict quality standards (chemical composition, surface defects).
- Maintenance & Technical: Oversee machine health, including mould maintenance, cooling systems, and casting machine components.
- Planning & Coordination: Schedule production, manage material flow, and coordinate with SMS (Steel Melting Shop) and maintenance teams.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, ensure proper use of PPE, and adhere to ISO standards.
- Resource Management: Optimize raw material consumption (scrap, alloys) and manage manpower and energy usage.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 8–15 years in steel plant operations (specifically CCM/SMS), with significant supervisory experience.
- Skills: Strong understanding of steel-making processes, troubleshooting capability, team leadership, and proficiency in quality analysis.
