Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical System Design (HT/LT)

• Understand project requirements, client specifications, and electrical load demands.
• Perform electrical load calculations and prepare power distribution schemes.
• Design HT/LT distribution systems including transformers, panels, and switchgear layouts.
• Develop lighting layouts (internal & external), emergency lighting, earthing & grounding systems, and lightning protection systems.
• Selection and sizing of equipment such as Transformers, DG Sets, UPS, LT Panels, PCC/MCC panels, Circuit Breakers, and cables.
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), control schematics, cable schedules, and equipment layouts.
• Design ELV systems including Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Data & Communication networks.
• Coordinate with HVAC, Fire Fighting, and Plumbing teams for integrated MEP design.

2. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS standards, NBC guidelines, and local statutory regulations.
• Follow safety, energy efficiency, and sustainable design practices.
• Stay updated with evolving electrical codes and industry best practices.

3. Technical Coordination & Execution Support

• Provide technical inputs during design development and project execution.
• Support procurement and site teams with technical clarifications.
• Assist in resolving site challenges and ensure design intent is maintained during execution. • Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and optimization initiatives.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare detailed design drawings, calculation sheets, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Maintain organized documentation for project records and audits.
• Ensure timely submission of drawings and revisions as per project schedules.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for industrial, pharma, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HT/LT distribution, power systems, and ELV integration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP; knowledge of ETAP, Dialux, or similar tools preferred.
• Familiarity with execution practices and site coordination.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
