Experience Required: Mandatory prior hands-on experience in elevator / home lift installation on field
Role Overview
The Project Engineer is responsible for end-to-end on-site execution of home lift projects, starting from the kick-off meeting with the customer and salesperson till final handover. This is a completely on-site role requiring strong field experience, coordination skills, and ownership of execution, quality, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Kick-Off Meeting: Conduct a kick-off meeting with the customer and salesperson after order confirmation. Explain customer requirements, company scope of work, timelines, milestones, and installation flow to align expectations clearly.
- Site Preparation & Readiness: Guide the customer and contractor on shaft readiness, civil work, power supply, earthing, safety requirements, and access. Ensure the site is fully ready before installation begins.
- On-Site Installation Supervision: Oversee elevator/home lift installation activities on-site. Coordinate with installation engineers and helpers. Ensure work is executed as per company SOPs and safety standards.
- Quality Control (QC): Perform quality checks during and after installation. Ensure mechanical, electrical, and finishing quality meets company standards. Prepare and close snag lists, if any.
- Testing, Commissioning & Handover: Coordinate final testing and commissioning of the lift. Ensure smooth operation of all systems and complete final handover with proper explanation and documentation.
- Coordination & Reporting: Act as the single on-site point of contact. Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and service staff. Maintain site records, checklists, and provide regular project updates to management.
Mandatory Skills & Background
- Prior field experience in elevator / home lift installation
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical elevator systems
- Strong on-site coordination and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage customers and installation teams
- Willingness to work full-time on-site across multiple locations
