Job Description:
The Head of Project for a Ferro Alloys Division is a senior leadership role responsible for directing all project activities, including plant construction, capacity expansion, and technical optimizations. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, budget control, ensuring safety and environmental compliance (e.g., pollution control), and optimizing production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management & Execution: Oversee planning, engineering, and execution of new projects, plant upgrades, and capacity expansions within budget and timelines.
- Operational Leadership: Direct day-to-day operations of the ferro alloys unit, focusing on process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Strategic Planning: Develop long-term strategies for growth, resource allocation, and market expansion.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards, particularly regarding pollution control and hazardous waste management.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Manage contractors and vendors for equipment supply and installation.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor engineering and technical teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in the ferro alloys industry, specifically in project management and production.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of submerged arc furnaces, alloy production processes, and raw material handling.
- Skills: Project scheduling, financial management, analytical skills, and strong leadership abilities.
