Job Description:
A Civil Building Work Supervisor oversees daily on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications. They manage labor, coordinate subcontractors, conduct quality control inspections, and enforce health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management: Monitor daily construction progress, allocate resources, and direct personnel to maintain productivity.
- Quality Control: Inspect workmanship to ensure compliance with blueprints, building codes, and structural specifications.
- Safety Enforcement: Implement and enforce strict safety procedures, conducting risk assessments and training workers.
- Coordination & Planning: Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth operations and timely material delivery.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and material usage records.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering/Construction Management.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction supervision, specifically in building projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and technical specifications.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Safety Training: Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
